Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway To be Opened

The Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway is going to be opened at the end of June 2011, it is the one-time built longest, highest technical standard high-speed railway, the overall length is 1318km from Beijing South Railway Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station.

The design speed is 350km, the highest speed is 300km at the initial operation. There are two kinds of CRH train with two different speed 300km and 250km, the shortest travel time between these two terminal station is 4 hours and 48 minutes, if you take the 250km-speed train, the shortest time will be 7 hours and 56 minutes, anyway it is still 2 hours faster then the exit fastest 250km-speed train.

There are totally 24 stations on the whole journey, they are Beijing S., Langfang, Tianjin S., Cangzhou W., Dezhou E., Jinan W., Tai’an, Qufu E., Tengzhou E., Zaozhuang, Xuzhou E., Suzhou E., Bengbu S., Dingyuan, Chuzhou, Nanjing S., Zhenjiang S., Danyang N., Changzhou N., Wuxi E., Suzhou N., Kunshan S., Hongqiao.
